A New Generation Of Hunters Point Players

A six year old that enjoys and would like to continue the sport of tennis here at Hunters Point is Ariel Koonce, remember the name as she will be playing in her first 10 and under tournament at the SFTC Sept. 13. become her fan.

YTA For The Kids Day was a    success, Willie Mays and Barry Bonds attended as Mr.

 Mays was presented a plaque for his contribution to the Hunters Point site of YTA.  The plaque was given to Coach White to someday display it on the site after resurfacing  of courts and fence repairs are finished..

 

 

They Came Played Tennis Then Went Off To College

Today is another great day as Two more of Hunters Point tennis players graduate from college.  Tyronda Starks completed her Masters degree last week in Atlanta.

The HP Courts

Thanks Martyn on the question about the USTA grants to help resurface courts, we will apply, but will look to those that could truly make a difference in the courts rebuilding and maintenance the years to come.  We are now in the planning stages for a YTA site to call our home site without any outside interference governing our programming.  I will keep you in the loop.

Who Will Help Get The Courts Resurfaced?

With a little absence from the court YTA will now look forward to rebuilding and getting things back before Coach White was transferred to U.C. Berkeley (Bear Tax).

With Azaria not asked to play in the winter for the winter championships and moved from her #4 position because a new ranking system the powers that be or as many call them the "Gate Keepers" decided this rule would be used for the 2013 selection of juniors instead of 2014.  We will stay calm and this year go for the # 1 spot, we know that's what Arthur would do.

Site Up And Running

Happy to report the juniors are busy at it trying to show who is better than who.  As soon as this is out of their system we will began the long journey down that road that is life skills on the court and off.  This is indeed a good rebirth of Hunters Point tennis in the Bay View community of San Francisco.

Great first day at HP, we even picked veggies from the garden.  How cool was that.
