Site Up And Running

Happy to report the juniors are busy at it trying to show who is better than who.  As soon as this is out of their system we will began the long journey down that road that is life skills on the court and off.  This is indeed a good rebirth of Hunters Point tennis in the Bay View community of San Francisco.

HP FOREVER

Things are going as planned.

Great first day at HP, we even picked veggies from the garden.  How cool was that.

Rich, the site was Richer with him around.

I do not know if we will be able to get the help of my friend and mentor Rich who help with the site back in the day, but if he returns the site will surly be one that the community of Hunters Point will be proud of.

Hunters Point own YTA Berlyn Maloa returns to college and makes tennis team, how proud are we.  What ever she needs we will be there.

The Reopening of Hunters Point

Great opportunity for YTA to reopen the Hunters Point site in the Bay View section of San Francisco.  Having worked there for 11 years I was indeed surprised to not be included in anyway the plans for the site.  I did respond when called to cover the site as plans did not go as planned, go figure?

Hunters Point Tyronda Starks

Received news that Tyronda Starks is now teaching in Atlanta, Ga.  While working on her grad work at Strayer Univ. she finds time to put her PTR Certification to instruct 10 and under.  We are so proud and will continue to keep track of her progress.

Its great to hear that another junior is doing in college (Virginia State Univ.) we are keeping our eyes on you.

Great day today, say Shane a Hunters Point junior who is working as security with the Safeway stores.  It was great seeing a junior for the Bayview area doing well and not in a bad situation in his life.  We talked and gave him my number to always be in contact.

A summer DVD found and will never be forgotten.

Hunters Point Tyronda Starks returns from college (Clark Atlanta) and takes first offered (PTR) Professional Tennis Registry certification test to work with the 10 and under juniors.  " I will now be in a position to help juniors at the age I was when I started tennis and know they will get the best training that can be offered" Tyronda said.  We all have your back.

If you have the chance to meet some of these YTA Hunters Point juniors along the way, stop and ask them how they are doing and I'm sure you will be suprised at the answers they give.

It was great seeing one of our YTA members from Hunters Point today out playing tennis and using some of the life skills learned to be apart of the tennis club life. Not only did he have the skills to be on the court with members of the club but was able to instruct and help out with tennis,. How great was that?

Juniors From H.P. Still In Touch

It was great hearing from another junior from the Hunters Point Site of YTA, Marsae and his brother Anthony. Just the other day Faheim Wesley called along with Master. Its great to know that they still remember.
